Art for Everyone

Art is for everyone on your holiday checklist.

So many people tell me that they are not comfortable purchasing original art. I think a change of perspective is in order.

Art doesn’t have to be expensive to be worthwhile. Artists in your community are making something in your price range. Ceramics, wood work, handmade jewelry, metal work and textiles are a particularly affordable option. You can find something special for as little as $10.

Don’t want to add to someone’s clutter? Artists conduct workshops and classes in person and online. Most are accessible to budding artists.

I recommend buying local if you can because it will benefit your community. However, buying anything hand made helps to support an artist who probably needs a little help to keep going.
