Sometimes there isn’t more than meets the eye. The danger of intimacy is that you can find out some ugly truths about people. I completely understand the urge to withdraw from society because painful encounters are hard to shake. Being vulnerable means dealing with narcissistic, spiteful and manipulative people to get to those worth knowing.
