Decisions Decisions
Making art means making lots of decisions. Each decision leads to another and, sometimes, those decisions lead to problems that must be solved. For example, I decided to remove identifying traits such as skin color and hair color because I want the audience to move past superficial judgements. How, then, will participants understand that they are looking at beauty queens? Research suggests that the greatest common denominators are the crown and the sash, followed closely by the scepter, the bouquet of flowers, the throne and the robes.
