Work Spaces

One’s ability to make art is not dependent on factors such as money and space. If you have the drive, you simply must be willing to adapt. We are living in an apartment at the moment, so I have been trying to find alternative spaces to work. Otherwise, my projects might overwhelm the tiny space.

I decided to try my hand at encaustic collage since there is a studio in my area (The Encaustic Center) that offers classes, workshops and open studio options. I will definitely go back. I enjoyed working with the wax. It is soft and easy to carve. In addition, it comes in comes in both translucent and opaque forms. This allows you to reveal or conceal areas of the board in potentially dramatic ways.
